If you\u2019re in this dicey situation, there is a way out that you may not have considered: Getting a consolidated loan. Financial Goals\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As you\u2019ve probably guessed, S.M.A.R.T. does not refer to a more ingenious way of setting goals \u2014 although it is more multilayered than most goal-setting methods \u2014 but is an acronym.\u00a0 Briefly, S stands for \u201cspecific,\u201d M stands for \u201cmeasurable,\u201d A stands for \u201cactionable,\u201d R stands for \u201crelevant,\u201d and T stands for \u201ctime-bound.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While this <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneur.com\/article\/282514\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">goal-setting framework<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is often used by corporations to improve their bottom line, you can borrow it to improve your own personal finances. For instance, if your goal is to save $10,000 in a year, an action step you could take would be to save $27.40 every day.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Relevant:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> A relevant goal is realistic, measuring realism by past performance. For instance, you\u2019re unlikely to make six figures within a year if you are currently only making $25,000 a year. A more realistic goal would be to make $50,000 a year, perhaps $25,000 from your current job and the other $25,000 from a passive income stream.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Time-bound:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> A goal should have a deadline, otherwise it\u2019s just a wish.
